The Solway Trust, Maryport are a group of passionate local people who have got together to take action against the rapidly decreasing number of events that enables Maryport to thrive and be a top tourist destination in West Cumbria. The Solway Trusts sole aim is to organize regular local events, culminating in one large annual event that will take place throughout the town over a weekend period. This will generate much needed revenue for local businesses and create opportunities for the residents of Maryport as we become more established. With the main annual attractions being vastly scaled down or lost, The Solway Trust see it as their duty to utilise the incredible strength of support that they have been shown by the Maryport community and people from all over Cumbria, to resurrect our tourism industry and keep Maryport alive.
